We would like to take the Norway in a nutshell train to Bergen booking our tickets and connections on line, but we are landing to Sandefjord Airport. Do we take the bus from the Sandefjord airport to Oslo or can we connect the Flåm train from Sandefjord?
What is the best way of doing this Norway in a nutshell from Sandefjord airport.?

Hi Mark, and welcome.
From Sandefjord Airport (Torp) is it the best option to travel towards Oslo first. There are some mountain roads located on your route towards Flam.

Train
Every hour a train leaves from Torp station to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). On arrival there is a shuttle bus that will take you from the airport to the small train station within minutes, Torp station is also known as Råstad station. A train also leaves every hour in the direction of Torp station (Vestfoldbanen R11). You do not have to buy an extra ticket for the bus, this is included in the price of a train ticket. The travel time between the stations of Torp and Oslo is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Costs: 289 NOK.

Torp Ekspressen
In the morning en evening (When most planes arrive and depart), a bus departs from "Torp Ekspressen" in the direction of Oslo. In terms of travel time and price there is little difference with the train. The start and end stop is Oslo Bus Terminal, near Oslo central station. The travel time to Oslo is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Costs: 269 NOK.

From Oslo you\'ll take the \'normal\' Norway in a Nutshell route with the Norwegian VY trains towards Myrdal/Flam/Bergen.
As well; why miss out on Oslo by wanting to take a shortcut? Oslo is worth your visit ;)
