Hi everyone,
I am from Germany and plan on using my 4 days in a Month interrail Ticket for a Trip to France and back. So I will have two days left over that I can not use in other countries. But I have planned a Trip in germany, so the question rose if I can somehow use my two left days for this trip, even though it is only in germany and this is not what the Interrail pass is intended for. The App says something about one(?) travel day to/from your home country, but it does not really specify further. I would really appreciate help from people who know better, thank you in advance.

I think you might have got this exactly opposite wrong!

If your one day is home-border-destination in France and another is France-border-home then the day other days can ONLY be used outside of Germany.

Originally Interrail did not permit any travel in home country but it was altered to allow one connecting journey in each direction from/back to your chosen station in home country, each part of which must be done in one day (which can include more travel in another country).
